I have a pretty old HP Pavilion Elite HPE Series Desktop that I admittedly haven't used in a while. I recently turned it on successfully a few weeks ago and tried to turn it on today to work on it some more, but now when I turn it on, I see the HP "Entering Setup" screen, and if I do not press anything it goes blank. The computer still runs but nothing is showing on my screen besides a black screen. If I press F11 for System Recovery, it loads files and goes to a Blue screen with a cursor, but gets stuck there. What are some steps I could take to deal with the problem?
Unknown what Windows version I have on here but definitely not anything recent.

Hi @Ren85,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your PC that is not booting up.
-Perform a power drain on your PC.
1) Unplug the power cord from the PC & wall.
2) Disconnect the power cable from the AC adapter if it is a detachable part and keep it aside.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the AC adapter, then connect it to the wall and to the charging port on your PC.
5) Power on the PC and wait for the PC to boot into Windows now.
- If you are not able to perform a recovery by going into the recovery manager, then you will have to use the recovery media or take the PC to a local store to reinstall the operating system.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
