Hello,
The problem started when my computer completely froze and had to have a hard restart. Ever since, it has been unable to boot, it automatically tries to diagnose the problem , fix it, fails, then it takes me to a blue screen with the option to restart or look at advaned options. I have a system restore point on my PC, so it asks me for my password, I input it, but it fails to recognize it and I know it is the correct password. I have tried it blank, I used old passwords, but nothing works. I can't use any of the options because they all require the password and this glitch is preventing me from doing anything. I've read many threads about this problem and found no solution which works. I tried to start in safe mode, but it only goes through the same process and takes me to the recovery screen. I even tried to use "installation media" by downloading the required tool on a borrowed computer, putting Windows 10 on a flash drive, then inserting the flash drive into the USB port and choose "Use a device" in hopes of getting through as some have had, but it restarts and gives me the same exact issue. There has to be some better way than me having to backup everything and wiping the hard drive to factory condition. There must be some solution. Someone please help, I'm at my wits end here

Just an update, I was able to attempt a system restore using the aforementioned USB method, though the restore failed. I ran a comprehensive diagnostic and it turns out it's a Hard drive/SSD long dst failure which is unfortunate. I'm going to try and backup my files using the restore manager before and hope it works before getting a new computer

Hi @Jackal427
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing Screen stuck in BIOS recovery.
Kindly refer to the steps below and let me know if that fixes the issue.
Hold down the power button until the looping computer shuts down.
- On an working computer, follow the instructions in the next tab to download the latest BIOS from our support site.
- Rename the downloaded BIOS file to BIOS_IMG.rcv and copy it on to removable media (For example a USB flash memory stick).
- Insert the removable media into the problem computer that has been powered off.
- Press the ESC key and the Ctrl key and plug the AC adapter into the computer.
- Select Recover the BIOS (using the currently-flashed BIOS) from the options on-screen.
- Select OK to start recovering the BIOS. This time it will also upgrade your BIOS version using file on the removable media.
- The computer boots directly into the operating system once this process is complete.
Once your computer has booted into the Windows operating system, you need to double check the BIOS version. You can easily check this using the System Information app.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I appreciate the reply, but unfortunately I already reset the hard drive to factory state after completing a backup on a flash drive. Even more unfortunate is the fact that my computer didn't recognize the flashdrive backup in File History. It wasn't showing the "I want to use a previous backup on this file history drive" button. It shows the flash drive which still has the backup, but there is no way to actually restore it from the file history. I was able to copy the backup file onto my computer and within the file chose to run a restore option, but it was missing a lot of important documents and other things which should have been backed up. I believe it only restored 2gb of a 25gb backup. Now I don't know how to recover those lost documents
