HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF (Windows 7 Professional  x64) and want to reinstall my Operating System on a brand new Samsung 500 GB SSD and have some questions about Initializing and Partitioning Disks.

From some researching, It appears that while Windows 7 64-Bit does indeed support a GPT Partiton, this partition scheme will only work on a BOOT drive if your system BIOS supports UEFI.

Note: I am also aware that MBR supports up to about 2TB and GPT 2TB+ as well as many other differences.

A few questions:

1).  Does the HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF have a BIOS UEFI so that you can BOOT a GPT Partition drive or must I use MBR?

       -  If UEFI/GPT is an option, is it the recommended way to go?

       -  What alterations (BIOS, etc.), if any, do I need to make in order to make sure the OS boots without problems?

2).   If I decide to install and use the Windows 7 XP Mode (i.e, Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode), does that mean that a MBR partition scheme is the only option that would work (regardless if my/any computer BIOS supports UEFI)?

 3) For other internal (SATA) or external (USB) connected SSD/HDD drives connected to my system, what are the recommendations regarding the format scheme, GPT or MBR for 2TB and under drives?
