@Bri-K, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Upgrading or Replacing Your Processor!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The AMD E1-1000 series processors are typically soldered directly onto the motherboard. This means that they are not upgradeable or replaceable in the same way that desktop processors are. If you are experiencing issues such as overheating, lag, and poor performance, there are a few options you can consider:

Optimize Software: Before deciding on hardware changes, ensure that your system's software is optimized. This includes cleaning up unnecessary files, reducing startup programs, and ensuring your operating system and drivers are up to date.

Consider Upgrading Other Components: If your laptop allows it, upgrading other components like the RAM or switching to a solid-state drive (SSD) can significantly improve performance without the need to replace the processor.

Cooling Solutions: If overheating is a significant issue, regular maintenance such as cleaning dust from the vents and using a cooling pad can help manage temperatures.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
