I've had this computer for years and today I went to look for some pictures and EVERYTHING is gone. Pictures, music, files, apps, programs. EVERYTHING IS GONE. It's like today is the first day it was ever turned on.

Hello
this shouldn't happen like that!
Has an update been made, any particular manipulation, can someone else use the computer?
What is the original version and the one currently in place?
Is a windows old folder visible?
It is possible if not to recover files using software, not 100% efficient, but we can sometimes recover quite a few documents!
You will need an external hard drive or a usb flash drive with sufficient capacity, an example:

Unfortunately, this is a KNOWN PROBLEM with some Windows Updates -- so here is a lengthy thread from Microsoft with some suggestions on how to address this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-files/automated-windows-10-updates-dele...
Good Luck
