Pavilion 590 desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My Pavilion 590 desktop will not boot. When I power on, I receive a black screen with the HP logo and it says "Preparing Automatic Repair" and it hangs on this screen forever. If I power on and use the F11 recovery option, I receive a black screen with the HP logo that says "Please Wait" and it hangs on this screen forever.

Any ideas??

Hi:

The first thing you should do is to run the hard drive diagnostics to make sure the hard drive is OK.

To do that turn on the PC, tap/press the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F2 diagnostics option and test the hard drive.

The Hard Drive diagnostic test passed. No failures.

Since the hard drive passed the tests, the only suggestion I can offer, would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool on another Windows PC running W7 64 bit or newer to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...
