I ran HP diagnostics as you suggested and all tests passed - thanks for that suggestion.

As far as the reset - I initially ran it from the HP when it was still running windows 11 - I did a reset and kept no files. Perhaps this is what I assumed was a clean install. Then I experienced the endless install loop.

I also did an install via a Windows 11 Installation Media USB and when it asks which drive partition to install Windows on, the only drive that shows is the USB, normally I would see several partitions to choose from so somehow the SSD isn't showing during that kind of install. I'm open to any suggestions. It's so odd, this is the only time I've reset a PC that didn't work.

Greetings @jestochin

My pleasure.

You might need the IRST driver when doing a clean W11 installation.

@Paul_Tikkanen should have a storage driver.

I don't understand why you cannot find the PC's product number to do a HP Cloud Recovery.

Hi Paul - yes, it's odd but as far as I can tell, if the product number is entered and I get the error product ID does not match or is invalid - the computer may not be able to do the cloud recovery.

I did install the storage driver and I was able to finish the install - just not a Cloud Recovery.

Thanks to all for the quick answers!

Greetings @jestochin

My pleasure.

Sounds good.

I've been doing AMD builds since 2020.

I never have an IRST driver problem when doing a clean Windows installation.

Hi, @jestochin

I don't understand why the HP cloud recovery tool won't work for your PC because when I enter the product number in the tool's website database it indicates that the 577D3AA#ABA is supported.

Cloud Recovery

For a clean install, since your PC has an Intel 12th gen core processor you have to install the Intel storage controller drivers in order for Windows to find the drive on all PC's with Intel 11th > 13 gen core processors.

I zipped up and attached the Intel storage controller drivers below.

The attached file is good for both W10 & W11.

Copy all of the files in both folders in the attached file to a USB flash drive.

Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.

Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.

Click Next, and Windows should install.

Hi Paul,

Sorry for the delay - I was traveling.

Anyway, thanks for the tip on adding #ABA to my product number - I'll try that when I get back.

Also, thanks so much for the detailed guide as well as the drivers you sent - this should all work and I should be in good shape.

I'll verify when I get back in town.
