@Laptopdummy74, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

If you're unable to log in to your HP ENVY - 17m-bw0013dx running Windows 11 and both your PIN and fingerprint options are unavailable, here are a few steps you can try to regain access:

If You Use a Microsoft Account

Most users sign in with a Microsoft account. If that’s the case:

  1. Visit the Microsoft Password Reset page.
  2. Follow the prompts to reset your password using your email or phone number.
  3. Once reset, use the new password to log in.

If You Use a Local Account (Not Microsoft Account)

Option 1: Use a Password Reset Disk

If you created a password reset disk earlier:

  • Insert the disk and click Reset password on the login screen.
  • Follow the wizard to create a new password.

Option 2: Use Another Admin Account

If another admin account is available:

  • Log in with that account.
  • Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage another account.
  • Select your account and change the password.

If No Reset Options Work

You may need to reset the PC:

  1. On the login screen, hold Shift and click Restart.
  2. Choose Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  3. Select Keep my files (to preserve data) or Remove everything.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Helpful Tip

After recovery, consider switching to a Microsoft account for easier password recovery in the future.
