Hi:
Unfortunately, the GT 1030 will not work in your PC.
In order for any nVidia graphics card beyond one of the GT(X) 6xx models to work, your PC has to have a BIOS version of 8.1x or newer.
Your PC's BIOS can only be updated to version 6.11.

you appear to have this system model
https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/c02878388
a nvidia GTX 680 or 670 will do what you want if you meet the power supply requirements by replacing the stock 250 watt supply with a 550/650 watt ATX standard supply SKIP THOSE 30.00 no name 700 watt units, as they don't output anywhere near 700 watts (more like 200/300 watts)
here's a name brand unit
adding 4gb more of ram (if possible) is highly recommended as it will increase system response time/speed overall

you might want to consider a new USED system off eBay, a HP z400 v2 system (motherboard has 6 memory slots not 4)
