My Touchsmart 420 HD crash, all partition is gone. I´ve replaced with a new hd, barracuda, 1tb, sata, already stalled.

I try install windows with a regular dvd windows 7 but with no sucess.

How can i get the 3 recovery original discs? My warranty is expired and i live in Brazil. Can i order one?

There are another way to restore this computer? What is my options?

( i have another touchsmart 420  here (same specs) from another user, working fine, may i burn the 3 discs from there to restore another computer? These discs will work in the first computer? )

Thanx in advance.

Thiago

You're very welcome.

Yes, a W7 DVD or USB flash drive should work.

This site claims to have genuine, unadulterated W7 ISO files for download...

https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-iso-download-tool

Click on the link labeled Windows ISO Downloader.exe

You can use either the:

Win 7 Home SP1 or the (Retail version, but the  OEM key on your PC's case will work with it)

Win 7 Home SP1 COEM (This version would be for what HP would have used--System Builder)

N is for European Union (EU) countries.

K is for South Korean markets.

Then you can use this tool to transfer the file to a 4 GB USB flash drive or a DVD.

Hi:

If it is the same model 420, all I can say is you can try the disks from that one on yours.

The only reason I can think of it not working would be if the recovery disks check the serial number of the PC.

If the disks from the other 420 don't work, then you would have to contact HP support in Brazil and see if they sell recovery disks for your PC.

How come a plain W7 installation DVD didn't work?

Those should work all the time...a better chance than the recovery disks working.

Thanx a lot for your answer.

I´ve tried with the recovery discs made from another computer and didn´t work, appear a message saying about these dvd´s won´t work in this computer. Just it. Maybe the serial number been mandatory in this case due to licence.

I´ll try burn another windows 7 dvd, shoud it work, right? (bootable dvd ou bootable flash disc).

Also, i´ll contact hp here in Brazil to see what they say.

Thanx again. ( and sorry about my poor english)
