Hello,
Today I got a HP 260 G2, and was downloading the drivers and stuff from HP's page for the device. I also downloaded a BIOS update.
Ran it, everything seemed well. Untill the update was finished and the unit restarted and all I could see was a blank screen.
After a bit the fan turned on very loud.
How do I even recover from this?
--------------------
1. I tried Windows + B key. It didn't work.
2. I removed the BIOS battery and installed it again, that didn't fix it either.
3. I noticed that theres no power coming to the keyboard or any other USB port.

Hello. I have the same problem.
After reading security bulletin https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05869091
and after downloading BIOS from link - blank screen, no beeps, usb power?
What to do?

I tried everything. Removing the battery. The BIOS reset jumper. Reseting the CMOS.
Absolutely nothing worked.
Sent it back, they will replace the motherboard. But I don't think this is covered under their warranty. Our company bought a bunch of these Mini PCs and I think they are servicing it as a courtesy.

Yes it's free for me, but need to wait 1-2 weeks for replacement. I have enterprise warranty and I need to replace motherboard.
And yes you are right it's faster to unsold and reflash chip, but warranty will be lost.

Well if the warranty is expired what I'll do is lookup the BIOS chip online and find it off Ebay or Aliexpress.
If you can't replace it yourself, take it somewhere to have it replaced. There really is no need to replace the entire board for just 1 chip.
