Pavilion 550-153w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have 3 HP computers in my household that run Windows 10. 1 passed Microsoft's Windows 11 compatibility checker, and the other 2 did not. The 2 that didn't pass was my HP Pavilion 550-153w desktop and my HP 255 G7 laptop. All 3 computers came with Windows 10. According the compatibility checker, the 2 that didn't pass was because 1 of them has a TPM that is missing/disabled as well as a CPU that hasn't been listed as compatible. The other one just doesn't have a compatible CPU. But can these computers have any workarounds to bypass the compatibility checker such as hardware upgrades or by enabling something in the BIOS?

I just find it silly that Microsoft is leaving a lot of computers running Windows 10 that weren't even upgraded to Windows 10 in the dark with no upgrade to Windows 11.

I hope someone can help rather than leaving me in the dark and by not giving me an answer as to saying Microsoft hasn't released it yet to the public. I just want to pass the compatibility checkers.

I know it's the same problem, but it's a bad idea to group different models into the same thread, so you should plan on repeating this thread for the other two failing PCs.  And, my guess is that the laptop is not upgradeable.

You should also try running this third-party checker because it provides lots of information:

Here is a link to a third-party tool that will check all the currently known requirements for Windows 11 and tell you what fails on your PC: https://github.com/rcmaehl/WhyNotWin11/releases

Do NOT try to download this using MS Edge as it flags it as malware -- which it is NOT -- use a different Browser instead.

And finally, there has been a LOT of complaining about the TPM issue -- but to date, MS is not letting up on that.

WAWood, I have already done the third party checker. Screenshot 2021-06-27 194305.png

OK, see the results now.

MS is requiring 8th gen or newer Intel processors -- your is much older than that.

If your PC supports TPM, there will be a setting in the UEFI settings to enable that.  If that is not there, it does not support it.

@WAWood the site is now OK to use with Edge.

I downloaded with edge and never got a malware alert.
