The Sunflower for my 690c has gone out, anyone know where I can get a replacement for it. It will no longer boot and 2 different shops told me the board is toast.

I did notice that the Amazon description said it was for a HP 590 and yours is a HP 690c, however, the motherboard is the same. On some of the EBay sites/vendors they listed both models.
Here is one from a retailer
https://www.impactcomputers.com/system-boards/hp-system-board-942023-601
If you look at the tab for compatible models, both the model series are listed, so feel fairly assured it will work.
As far as the CPU is concerned, that motherboard will accept several different AMD Ryzen CPU's.
Actually, here is one on EBay that has the CPU ( AMD Ryzen 3 2300G)
Here is a list of the CPu's that motherboard will support
Processor | TDP |
AMD Ryzen7-2700 (Pinnacle Ridge) 8 cores/16 threads | 65 W |
AMD Ryzen5-2600 (Pinnacle Ridge) 6 cores/12 threads | 65 W |
AMD Ryzen7-1700 (Summit Ridge) 3.0 GHz, 8 cores/16 threads | 65 W |
AMD Ryzen5-1600 (Summit Ridge) 3.2 GHz, 6 cores/12 threads | 65 W |
AMD Ryzen5-2400G (Raven Ridge) 3.6 GHz, 4 cores/8 threads | 45 - 65 W |
AMD Ryzen3-2200G (Raven Ridge) 3.5 GHz, 4 cores/4 threads | 45 - 65 W |
AMD AMD A12-9800 APU (Bristol Ridge) 3.8 GHz, 4 cores | 65 W |
AMD AMD A10-9700 APU (Bristol Ridge) 3.5 GHz, 4 cores | 65 W |
AMD AMD A8-9600 APU (Bristol Ridge) 3.1 GHz, 4 cores | 65 W |
So, assuming the CPU from your computer is good, it should work. If you are unsure about the existing CPU, you can buy one from that list that has better specs (higher in the chart)

I have done some searches for the Sunflower motherboard. For that model PC it seems the HP part# is 942023-601. Verify that info by observation of the sticker on the motherboard. IE:
Assuming that is it or something different, search the HP part#. I found many available on EBay, assuming you use a trusted vendor. If you wish to involve HP parts partners, Google search for HP part# is 942023-601, or the number observed on the motherboard, should reveal them. (price might be very high)
I found one on Amazon if you are hesitant about EBay.

1st I really appreciate your help I looked at Amazon & that looks like a duplicate to what my MB looks like. Now the number in the photo, center (lower middle) of the sticker is slightly different than the sticker you sent me a picture of, if that really makes any difference? The board seems to look exactly the same. I did find the exact board for a 690c on E Bay (open box) @t $130 compared to Amazon @ $80, note the Amazon MB is for the 590. My SP# is the same but the other # @ lower middle of my pict is different, don’t know if that makes any difference. I have the specs on my 690c and the ones on the HP 590, it uses an AMD A 10 processor and my 690c has an AMD Ryzen 1700 so I would think my processor will go into the board since they are both AMD? If not I will have to buy the E bay item.

I have ordered the Amazon MB as it looks to be a carbon copy and the price is way better. With Amazon I know I can return it if it doesnt work. If the 2 shops that did the diagnostics on the PC are correct the only thing wrong is the MB. Since it wouldn’t boot they couldn't go any further.
Now it was working perfectly before that but I did get a window warning me about a CMOS issue for a week or so before it quit. So I think you are correct and it will be fine after the MB gets here after Jan 17 or a bit later.

I want to caution you on the CPU care. Since the CPU is going to be removed from the motherboard and reinstalled in the replacement, be sure the surfaces on the CPU and cooler are clean and then the thermal compound is re-applied to ensure thermal coupling is intact, this will prevent thermal failure of the CPU.
Good luck. Please report back with the success or if you need further assistance.
Yes, ordering from Amazon does have easy returns if things do not go well.

I posted this a few minutes ago but I don't see it, hope this isn't a 2nd post. HP 690c, I had to replace my M/B, when I started the PC I got the “CMOS” error which quickly changed to a blue box in the middle of the screen with the message inside the box. (see pict). I didn’t do anything just left it then it must have gone to sleep or shut off. The M/B did come with a battery installed but I will install a new one just in case it is bad. If that isn’t the issue do I need to go into the BIOS & correct what it says is missing, if so how do I do that? Always had trouble getting into the BIOS on this PC.

The CMOS error might be from a battery being bad or jarred loose, changing it will not hurt anything. You might need to reset the BIOS to defaults and there might be an issue with that setting.
You can enter the BIOS before the PC starts by doing using this method.
Start tapping the Esc key BEFORE starting the PC and then press the start button.
Keep tapping the Esc key until a popup menu shows. Then pick F10 and then reset BIOS to "defaults" and then save the selection to close the BIOS screen and restart.
If the blue screen comes on again, try what it suggests and F10 to continue. There might be a problem with the motherboard.

Shortly after posting I was looking around the internet and came across some info & one item being replacing the Batt B/4 installing the M/B. Something I knew from some time ago & had forgotten. Doing that & it booted right up and seems to be working “OK” just a bit off when loading some things and a few other things where it does not seem quite right to me. I will do the BIOS as you suggest to see if that settles my concerns before I try system restore. I was also thing using my system repair Win 10 disk if needed. I have seen many things relating to Win 10 over the years & I will cut, paste into word and print it out for future use. Some of that info references How to Reset this PC which allows you to keep your files or dump them then it re-install Windows.
I have a Samsung 970 NVMeM.2 500GB I installed a few years ago but I kept the original HDD that it came with intact, just in case I would ever need to factory reload.
After I installed the new Batt & held my breath when I hit the power button & was let down after many seconds until I realized I forgot to turn the power strip button that powers up my screen. Everything came to life after I did that. A big sigh of relief. Thanks again will keep you informed.

One other ? I used MS Health Check to see if it qualifies for Win 11, the test say's this PC wont support Win 11. I have an AMD Ryzen7-1700 (Summit Ridge) 3.0 GHz, 8 cores/16 threads
I asked a repair shop & they thought that it should qualify with that CPU? any thoughts?
