HP All-in-One PC 24-dd0000a (7WY98AV)

Running HP Cloud Recovery Tool v2.7.11.0 2024-0729 to create USB media and it fails with 0xC00405. The issue appears to be with a hash tag mismatch according to the log file which states the hash(0xb78b64f5faa6a4f7e2a65463aef939cda1782c5f4c623367741af56805bf9d41) doesn't match the hash(0x782b6cf8603adb851cb0b22676e8e1cfa2826cea8eb30177edaa62e1e6f5cd78) from tag on cloud.
How do I contact HP to fix hash issue or provide recovery media?

Hi @bDanC,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with the HP Cloud Recovery Tool failing with error 0xC00405 on your HP All-in-One PC 24-dd0000a (7WY98AV) suggests an issue with downloading or creating the recovery media. Here are some troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Internet Connection

  • Make sure your internet is stable and not dropping packets.
  • If using WiFi, switch to a wired Ethernet connection for stability.

2. Run the HP Cloud Recovery Tool as Administrator

  • Right-click the HP Cloud Recovery Tool and select Run as Administrator.

3. Ensure Enough Free Space on USB Drive

  • Use a 16GB or larger USB (formatted as FAT32).
  • Try using a different USB drive in another port.

4. Disable Antivirus & Firewall Temporarily

  • Some security software may block the tool from downloading files.
  • Disable Windows Defender or any third-party antivirus and retry.

5. Use a Different Network or VPN

  • If your ISP is blocking the download, try using a mobile hotspot or VPN.

6. Manually Download the Recovery Image

  • Instead of using the tool, download the recovery image directly from HP:
    • Visit HP Cloud Recovery Download
    • Enter your PC Serial Number to find the recovery image.

7. Check Windows Version & Tool Version

  • Ensure you are using the latest version of the HP Cloud Recovery Tool.
  • Update Windows 11 and drivers before running the tool.

8. Run Windows Troubleshooters

  • Press Win + R, type msdt.exe /id NetworkDiagnosticsWeb, and press Enter to run the internet troubleshooter.
  • Open Windows Update Troubleshooter:
Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters > Windows Update.

9. Use Another Computer

  • If the tool continues to fail, try running it on another Windows PC.
