Well - I never got that private message and the printer has been at fault all this time. Have still 10% left in yellow and then the printer goes to bin if I don't get it fixed. What a shame. It is as per the header, M177fw.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.

Hi @Phil_33
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
Are you using a HP COLOR LASERJET PRO MFP M177FW printer?
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Yes, i'm using a HP COLOR LASERJET PRO MFP M177FW printer. unfortunately the reset did not work. The screen with permanent storage init. does not disappear. the printer does not restart. But I can still print... The screen simply freezes with the HP logo always and goes no further. Is there no solution to this problem? The printer is no longer under warranty. Thx for your help

@Phil_33 If the reset didn't help, I'm afraid that confirms a hardware malfunction, and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,
here's how private messages work: Click here for details.
If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
