HP Envy All-in-one 27 b2xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had a couple of BSODs. While looking for problems I checked the reliability monitor and noticed that HP CommRec stops working every day. I don't expect that to be the cause of my blue screens, but it worries me that the HP recovery software may not work properly if I need it.

All Windows updates and HP updates are done, anti-virus and malwarebytes are operating properely and up to date, and Windows tells me I have the best drivers.

The computer is about 18 months old.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hey there! @Robbie15, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Community!

Were there any recent windows updates on the PC?

What is the blue screen error you get on the PC?

Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.

An incompatible piece of software, such as an old program or third-party antivirus, is likely the root of the problem.

To resolve this issue, try uninstalling any unnecessary apps or pieces of software you installed recently, using these steps:

Open Settings.
Click on System.
Click on Apps & features.
Select the app and click the Uninstall button.
Follow the on-screen directions to complete the uninstall process.

Disconnect non-essential hardware

Re-downloading upgrade files

It's possible that you're getting a blue screen because of damaged setup files, in which case you'll need to re-download the installation files

To use the Disk Cleanup tool, do the following:

Open Start.
Search for Disk Cleanup and click the result.
Select drive "Windows (C:)" and click OK.
Click the Clean up system files button.
Select drive "Windows (C:)" and click OK.
Check the Temporary Windows installation files option.
Click OK to delete the files.

Lastly, try running a system diagnostics test on the PC and check if the hardware components on the PC are functioning correctly.
