HP Compaq DC5800
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello everyone.

I have a DC5800 with Windows 10 installed, and I found the link below with all the drivers needed to get everything installed properly, but the liks for the files are all broken.

Anyone who can update the links please?

Thank you

You're very welcome.

Under the Network adapters device manager category, if the driver is installed, there should be an Intel 82566DM Ethernet adapter listed there.

If there is nothing there, and there is no device listed as an ethernet controller with the little ! mark next to it, then the onboard ethernet adapter has failed or is disabled in the BIOS.

Hi:

You'll have to use the W7 drivers for any devices that W10 didn't install.

You seem to have posted the same question, twice.

really, I had not noticed that I unintentionally duplicated the post, one of which was with the link mentioned.
Sorry, but it was not my intention. as it says in this link, with an archived message, it should use the winXP drivers, but the mentioned procedure is with the broken links.

That archived post is 4 years old.  Over time, hyperlinks do "break".

The current web-site has device-drivers for Windows XP, if that is what you are wanting to install.

Hi, @Fabiano_Silva

HP combined the business support site and the consumer support site into one site in April of this year.

So any references to drivers posted from the business support site no longer work.

Just post the names of the devices that need the drivers, and I will post the direct links to the W7 drivers you need for them to work on W10.

You wouldn't use any of the XP drivers when there are W7 drivers available.

At this time, I do not have a network card.

I installed all windows 7 network drivers on windows 10 and it still does not work.

I'm getting crazy!

Windows 10 should have automatically installed the ethernet drivers.

I have a dc7800 which runs W10 just fine, and W10 automatically installed the ethernet driver.

The dc7800 is the upscale model of the dc5800, and it uses the exact same ethernet adapter.

The only drivers I needed to install were the W7 Soundmax audio driver, the Intel HECI driver and the Intel AMT-SOL driver.

Nothing else was needed.

So, I don't know what to tell you unless you have an add on ethernet adapter that is not W10 compatible.

Just post the hardware ID for the device that needs the driver.  Then I'll see what I can do to help.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID...

Hi:

That is a wireless network adapter which I doubt will work on W10, and it was not supplied by HP.

But you can try the driver I have zipped up and attached below and hope that it works.

If not, just buy an external usb wireless network adapter that has support for W10.

You will need to manually install the driver as follows...

Download and unzip the file I attached below, to its folder.

Go to the device manager and click on the Network Controller device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and see if the driver installs that way.

Then restart the PC.

The driver folder I attached does have support for the hardware ID you posted...but it is from 2009.
