TO THE READERS / FOLLOWERS OF THIS THREAD:
It seems clear to me the HP is not willing to step up to its responsibilities to mitigate this known Security Vulnerability when it appears on the surface it is a single user who is having this issue. As you have seen following this thread for many weeks, numerous attempts to get to root cause and resolution have failed.
I strongly suspect there are many others exposed to the same risks as I am, but have not yet weighed in on this thread, or have been frustrated with numerous dead ends as they too tried to find a solution, and the inaction by HP.
So here now I ask for your help. If you have the same or similar security vulnerability being reported by the Intel CSME tool, please let your voice be heard by contributing to this thread. For those of you not familiar with the CSME tool, a quick Google of the text string "csme detection tool" will give an overview and a quick safe link to download. This Intel tool will scan your system for security vulnerabilities.
For those of you that may be wary of downloading this tool, please ask any of your trusted friends, a techie at work, or Intel themselves, author of the tool, about how to run a quick scan.
Thanks in advance for any contributions that will further a resolution to this risk for those of us with HP systems.
Kevin
