HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-b114
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-b114 will not boot.  S/N of unit: 8CC6370884.   SKU #: X6F62AA#ABA.  The system is out of Warranty

Automatic Repair option,  Troubleshoot - Reset this PC, Startup Repair, Startup Settings, Uninstall Update options,  BIOS – F11 Recovery Manager – System Recovery option all did not work.

I ran Diagnostics via the BIOS

The System Fast Test and System Extensive Test both reported failure for HARD DRIVE 1.

Questions:

Is there an SSD option available for this Pavilion All-in-One - 24-b114 ?

Is there a Replacement System Recovery media (DVD or USB) available ?  If so, how do I obtain it?

(I do not see anything on the Support & drivers download page for this model)

Below is the link to the parts list for your PC:

HP PartSurfer

According to the parts list it came with a 2 TB 3.5" mechanical hard drive.

You can replace the drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD in a storage capacity that meets your needs and budget.

If you want the same storage this is the link to the 2 TB drive I recommend.  You can go higher or lower if you want.

Because the SSD is smaller than the hard drive, you need to also purchase a 3.5" to 2.5" adapter so you can mount the drive where the 3.5" drive is now.

I recommend this adapter because it is the same size as a 3.5" drive and should mount exactly the same way the hard drive is mounted now.

If you want the original HP factory image, you can purchase a recovery kit from this vendor at the link below:

You can also reinstall W10 for free by making a bootable USB installation flash drive with the Microsoft media creation tool from the link below:

Download Windows 10

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page:

  • Will  the HP BIOS and chipset in the Pavilion All-in-One - 24-b114 and Windows 10 Home O/S recognize/support the 2.5" SATA SSD ?

Thanks again.

You're very welcome.

Yes, a SSD should work fine.
