Can't locate any BIOS updates, nor any driver updates, from HP's site - not that I don't get my driver updates from elsewhere. Updating the BIOS is my last hopeful act before scrapping this motherboard, since the old BIOS doesn't support my new graphics card (Asus GeForce GTX 750 Ti, no extra power requirement, although I did buy a 600-watt PSU to replace the junkware 300-watt PSU that came with the PC). I am aware the latest update almost certainly won't fix the problem, but I've got nothing to lose at this point. I'd gladly swap the card to an MSI model which, according to the Internet, works with older BIOS versions, but my retailer won't refund products if they have been installed once (even if they don't work).

When connected, the PC beeps thrice - once every 20 seconds or so - and gets stuck on a black screen with a flashing cursor. You can probably see how this is a problem.

The specifications of my PC seem to be the same as these, with the exception of a different product number and the upgraded PSU (and no, that page lists no updates, either):
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=5151865&calledBy=&docId=emr_na-c03068621...

And, as you can probably guess, the BIOS has never been updated before, meaning it's v7.13.

If no update is available, makes it worse by bricking my sweet baby Jesus motherboard, or doesn't fix my problem, are there any budget motherboards I could buy that are fully compatible with my system (yes, the Asus GTX 750 Ti is included) without having to replace a single part and/or the computer case?

Why, thank you. I'll try that and check back later.

It's version 7.16 Revision A, so hopefully it does something for you.

Unfortunately updating the BIOS alone did not make the card automagically work. I did, however, find a solution:

However it does whatever it does, it works, the only problem being it has to be done every time the PC is restarted. Would you happen to know what that is, how it works, and what ill effects it might pose to my system?

I am not sure why that works for you, but it's definitely not a solution I would recommend using more than a few times.  If the hardware is not compatible and the drivers aren't working properly you will have performance problems and could potentially cause damage to the motherboard/GPU in the long run.
