HP Pavillion m7690y
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Our HP Pavillion m7690y desktop has recently developed a problem. It will power up normally and display output on a monitor from a settop tv box. It runs for approx.30mins and then the monitor goes to a message indicating "cannot detect a signal, going to power saving mode".

We have tried a different monitor and it does the same thing.

Hope you can help.

hi

this one ?

Although this product page is still available, you won't find much here for this model.

It says configurable, so I don't know exactly what configuration you have.

the first thing to test, since the monitor turns off, would be to remove the graphics card if you have one, and connect the monitor to the motherboard

Must select one of the following options:
  • GeForce 7300LE
  • GeForce 7350LE
  • GeForce 7500LE
  • ATI Radeon x1700SE
  • GeForce 7600GT

which seems impossible to me?
So find an equivalent graphics card, if you can find one, from another computer?

The P5BW-LA (Basswood2) motherboard

  • PS/2 mouse (green)
  • Coaxial SPDIF Out
  • RJ-45 Network (LAN)
  • Audio: Rear Speaker Out (black)
  • Audio: Center/Subwoofer (yellow orange)
  • Audio: Line In (light blue)
  • Audio: Line Out (lime)
  • Audio: Microphone (pink)
  • Audio: Side Speaker Out (gray)
  • USB 2.0: 4
  • IEEE 1394a (fireWire)
  • Coaxial SPDIF In
  • PS/2 keyboard (purple

no graphics port exact ?
