There was a closed, archived topic here: HP ProDesk 600 G1 mini does not detect the SSD in the M.2 slot 
Instead of the aforementioned M.2 Samsung 950 Pro NVMe ssd (comment from Dmitrij54), this newer Samsung type would be suitable for this machine?
