I accidentally uninstalled HP Recovery Manager. I tried doing a system restore but it did not help. Is there anyway I can download this program ? Thank you

I will probably go this route and re-install. One other thing, the link you sent me on 10/30 to download the Recovery Manager from HP that was for Windows 7. Could this be the reason it did not work on my computer? Thanks again for all your help.

Try this link:  http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45415.exe

Thank you for your response. I downloaded and ran the file you suggested but it did not help. I went into search and typed in recovery manager and the results drew a blank. Is it possible to extract only the files that I need from the recovery discs I made when I purchased the computer?

If by that, you mean copy the files to a USB stick or hard drive, and do the recovery from there -- NO.  The disks are populated in such a way that the same filenames are reused, so copying the contents elsewhere only results in overwriting the files from the ealier disks.

If this is a new PC that came with Win10, while this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about diagnosing and repairing your machine remotely.

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!

I'm sorry that I wasn't clear enough when I first wrote in. I am running Windows 10 on the computer that originally came with Windows 8.1 and it is out of warranty. I cannot afford the $59.00+ help desk fees. Thank you again for your assistance.

Well, since your PC has already been registered with the Microsoft Win10 Activation Servers, then you can Reinstall Win10 any time you want and it will reactivate without problems.

You can download and create the install media from this link:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10
