HP ENVY Desktop - 750-167c
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased an HP Envy desktop and I have tried to create recovery media and I receive a message saying the partition does not exist. The machine is Factory Reconditioned.

What are my options moving forward. I'm guessing the mahcine should have had this partition when it was 'reconditioned'.

Thanks.

I would suggest you call HP support who could take a remote control on your coputer to see what is going wrong and then if required they could send you a set of Factory Recovery Image (Depending on the situation).

Wish you luck,
Karthik

As per my knowledge you should not get that error While Creating Media. You might get that error while running recovery.

Hi Karthik

The steps I do are

1) Start Buttin

2) All Apps

3) HP Help and Support

4) HP Media Recovery Creation

5) Yes to allow app to make changes

I then receive a dialog box titled "Recovery Manager"  stating that the Recovery partition has been removed.

My guess is that the machine was not reconditioned properly (based on buying the machine and then running the app to get the error).

My status is that I have the machine, I do not have recovery disks and the app to create those disks is failing.

What can HP do to rectify this?

Thanks.

Hi Beeman21,

If you got the PC from HP this way, you should still be in Warranty and can call HP to have them ship you recovery media.

Thanks I will do that.
