Hi @giribrothers,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Slim Desktop S01-pF2888 is not working, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check the Power Supply:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the desktop and the power outlet.
- Try a different power outlet to rule out an outlet issue.
- Check for any visible damage to the power cable or power supply.
Power Button and Indicators:
- Check if the power button is lit up. If it's not, your power supply might be faulty.
- If there's a blinking power light, refer to your manual for the specific meaning of the light pattern.
External Devices:
- Disconnect all external devices (USBs, printers, etc.) and try turning the desktop on again. Sometimes external devices can prevent the system from booting.
Monitor:
- Ensure the monitor is powered on and correctly connected to the desktop. Try using a different monitor or cable if you suspect an issue with the display.
Internal Hardware Check:
- If you're comfortable opening the desktop, check for loose internal connections, such as the RAM, hard drive, or graphics card. Ensure everything is seated properly.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Unplug the power cord, hold down the power button for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and try powering up again.
Try Safe Mode:
- If the computer powers on but doesn’t boot, you can try booting into Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key as soon as the system starts.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
