Windows 11 recently updated to 2H 2025.  Following that update the HP Support Assistant diagnostic program 'Optimize Your Performance' consistently fails to complete normally.  This is the error I receive.  Anyone have thoughts about how to resolve.

Hi @Dan2012,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the "Optimize Your Performance" function in HP Support Assistant isn't completing successfully after the Windows 11 update, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check for Updates

  1. HP Support Assistant: Make sure you have the latest version of HP Support Assistant. Open the application, go to "Updates," and check for software updates.
  2. System Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 system is fully updated by going to Settings > Windows Update and installing any available updates.

Reinstall HP Support Assistant

  1. Uninstall: Open Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program. Find HP Support Assistant and remove it.
  2. Download and Install: Visit the HP Support Assistant page and download the latest version for your OS.
  3. Reinstall and Test: After reinstalling, test the Optimize Your Performance function again.

Run Windows Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and run the troubleshooter for "Program Compatibility" to see if it identifies any compatibility issues with the HP Support Assistant.

Check System Resources

  • Ensure that your system has enough resources (CPU, RAM) available. A lack of resources could hinder the performance of diagnostic tools.

Review Logs for Clues

  • If possible, review any diagnostic logs available in HP Support Assistant for specific error messages or codes that might provide more detailed insight into what is failing.

Potential Conflicts

  • Check for any other system optimization or antivirus software that might be running concurrently and could potentially interfere with HP Support Assistant.

Using these steps should help address and potentially resolve the issues you're experiencing with the HP Support Assistant on your updated Windows 11 system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
