We’re very sorry to hear about the theft of your laptop, and we understand how stressful this situation can be.
Unfortunately, HP cannot remotely block or disable a device once it has been lost or stolen. However, here are some important steps you can take:
If you purchased and activated LoJack (Absolute) tracking service before the theft, you may be able to:
- Track the device’s location.
- Lock it remotely.
- Wipe data or report it as stolen.
Otherwise – Contact Local Authorities:
- We strongly recommend you file a police report and provide them with:
- The laptop’s serial number.
- Proof of purchase.
- Any other identifying details?
Once a report is filed, law enforcement may reach out to HP’s Security team for further assistance through official channels.
