Yes, that is because W7 does not have the USB3 drivers to install.

And if the PC has any USB 2 ports, those don't work until you install the chipset driver.

The solution is to run the gigabyte USB tool that will automatically install the USB 3 drivers into your W7 USB installer.

Here is the link to the utility and below that, an instructional video for how to use it.  Easy to do.

Hi:

Did you try to boot from the USB by selecting the F9 boot options menu?

Turn on the PC, immediately press the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the device you want to boot from.

Since you enabled legacy mode in the BIOS, you should have both EFI and legacy boot devices to choose from.

Selecting legacy boot after plugging into rear usb ports, now booting. Though now, new issue. Windows 7 screen what language. Trying to select nect for english. Mouse or keyboard not getting recognized. Front oemr rear usb. Mumlock not lighting, led nottom of mouse not on.

Ok. Will give a try today. Is this issue with this computer? Havent had this so far.

HP Recommended

It is an issue with any PC with Skylake chipsets or newer.

The only way you could install W7 on the 800 G2 series is on the SFF and MT models that have PS/2 ports and DVD drives, and you use a PS/2 KB and mouse and a W7 installation DVD to install W7.

On the models such as the G2 mini that only have USB ports, you have to use the gigabyte tool.

HP Recommended

Thanks. That did it.  Added usb drivers with utility, had mouse and keyboard.

You're very welcome.
