Well isn't this a reckoning, purchase a brand new motherboard AAHD3-HB 655590-001, Motherboard with bios ver

HIB_706.rom same version as my problem motherboard, the system still will not shut off after shutdown from the windows shutdown menu button. This computer was bought in 2011 and we have not had any problems what so

ever till the past recent months, it came with windows 7 home prem. it had the same problem with that OS but have upgraded to windows 10 pro thinking it would fix the issue, boy was I wrong.

This motherboard has UEFI on it but there is not much power options in bios, there is no bios update for this mobo

however there is a 7.16 bios which is not the correct bios and if installed it BRICKS the computer and im not in the mood

to performing a jtag operation if I should install it. See here - http://systats.or8.net/hpspi/

And why is it HP doesn't post a manual for this mobo, as I cant find one on the net.

Think I'll retire the computer and put in a yard sale and let someone else have the problem.

Its a shame HP doesn't give more support....

Hi Ductberry

Had a similar problem with a 2011 HPE CTO system.

Replaced every component (except the motherboard) with known good replacement parts.

Process of elimination led me to the conclusion the MB was bad.

Maybe the replacement motherboard you purchased is also bad.  Threw in the towel at this point.

HP provides consumer motherboard or system user documents with very little detail.

Well I have narrow down the problem to the UEFI and the GPT partition, what this has to do with the system switching off after shut from windows or will not go into suspend mode goes to extent of my knowledg, i turned off fast boot, hybrid sleep was no help, to rectifi the problem I whip the hard drive clean with diskpart then convert to mbr then boot windows in legacy mode and install windows 10 pro again install all updates after a reboot back in to windows I performed a shutdown and the system switch off in a matter of minunits reboot back into windows andle the computer sit for awhile and windows went into suspend mode and the computer switch off, my system is now working perfect. There are hundreds of people on the net having the same problem as I did and it has to do with UEFI - GPT - and SECURE BOOT STATE. Any how the system is work great and I will leave it that way.... cheers folks
