Product: HP product: HP EliteDesk 800 G2 DM 35W
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Installed Windows 10, then Fedora on the internal 256GB SSD, then Ubuntu on an external USB HDD. UEFI boot menu (F9) only shows Fedora and Ubuntu; Windows 10 does not show up.  Running efibootmgr as root from Fedora shows as below. How to get Windows boot option back, preferably without wiping the SSD? Uefi is HP v: N21 Ver. 02.49.

I realize HP doesn't cover the type of abuse modifications to which I subject my computers, but was hoping someone reading my post might have a solution. As it turns out, the problem appears to be solved, but I'm not sure why. Here's what I (think I) did, just in case someone, somewhere encounters the same problem:

1. Boot into Windows on the SSD via grub2 menu

2. Create Recovery USB (should have done this as soon as I received the computer, but didn't)

3. Boot Recovery USB. System apparently booted into Windows on the SSD

4. Shut down system

5. Boot into UEFI menu; go to Boot Options - lo and behold, the first entry is now for Windows on the SSD

I'm sorry, but HP only warranties their PCs for usage with the OS that comes preinstalled.

IF you replace that with a Linux distro, or add a Linux distro, then you assume full responsibility for maintaining that -- including solving any problems with booting the other OS and/or installing the other OS.

Your best bet for support now is to contact the support forum of the distro you are using.
