I want to boot the operating system from an an alternate drive (NOT the internal SSD drive). How do I get a boot menu?

If Windows 10 is running, choose the "Advanced Restart" options, and then reboot.
You'll be offered the opportunity to pick a bootable device.
If the computer is powered-off, power-on and immediately start tapping the ESC key, until you see a menu.
Either press one of the F-keys to show available bootable devices, or enter BIOS SETUP, and permanently change the boot-order.
