Hi:

If you enabled legacy mode and disabled secure boot in the BIOS, those would be the only settings you would need to change in order for W7 to install.

Personally, I think it is a lost cause trying to get W7 to run on a Whiskey Lake platform.

You should be able to boot from the Legacy USB diskette on key/USB flash drive with legacy mode enabled/secure boot disabled.

The best mode for Windows 7 is the third, UEFI Mode through CSM, as long as we have components (hardware) that support it. This is the only way in which you can install and start Windows 7 from an NVMe storage drive. It is also the way in which the boot and load of Windows 7 is faster.
