It is possible, but unlikely, that the monitor had gone out. You can tell by checking to see the system seems to be working: the keyboard CAP NUM keys turn on and off the light, the disk drive lights blink, the CD drawer eject?.
More likely something is wrong hardware wise. Motherboard, memory, CPU, BIOS.
Disconnect hard drive, optical drive. take out all memory chips. (blow out all dust before removing memory). Then put in a single memory stick and see if it boots up where you can get into the bios.
Any beeping sounds? Does the num lock flash on and off with a pattern when powered up?
Please post your product ID, not the serial number. There are troubleshooting tips but the product ID is needed to identify your system.
How did this happen? Was it working and the the power went out unexpectedly? Add memory or some new device? Download some strange software?
[EDIT] if you get this working but need to install a clean copy of windows be sure to install the 64 bit version. There is no charge to upgrade to 64 bit.
