So, I downloaded a big game we are talking about 20GB on my PC and for some reason my PC graphic quality has dropped anyone know how to fix this i have already deleted the game but still no change

I understand you've noticed a drop in graphic quality on your HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC after downloading a large game, and deleting the game hasn't helped, there could be a few reasons for this issue. 

Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:


Check Graphics Drivers: Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. You can check for updates via Windows Update or by visiting the graphics card manufacturer's website (Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA).

  • Windows Update: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
  • Device Manager: Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager. Expand the Display adapters section, right-click on your graphics card, and choose Update driver.

Adjust Graphics Settings: Sometimes, high-performance games can alter your system’s graphics settings. Go to Settings > System > Display and check your display settings. You may also want to open the graphics control panel (e.g., NVIDIA Control Panel, AMD Radeon Settings) and ensure that your settings are optimized for performance.

Run a Graphics Performance Troubleshooter: Windows 11 has a built-in troubleshooter for graphics performance. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and run the troubleshooter for graphics.

Check for System Resource Issues: Sometimes, large downloads can affect system performance. Check if any background processes are using a lot of resources:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Look for processes that are consuming high amounts of CPU, memory, or disk resources.

Check Power Settings: Ensure your laptop is set to High Performance mode.

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & battery and select Power mode. Choose Best performance.

Perform a System Scan: Corrupted files or system issues might affect performance. Run a system scan:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator (search for cmd, right-click, and select Run as administrator).
  • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This will scan and attempt to repair system files.

Check for System Updates: Ensure your Windows system is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Reinstall Graphics Drivers: If updating doesn't work, you might need to uninstall and then reinstall the graphics drivers. In Device Manager, right-click your graphics card under Display adapters, select Uninstall device, and then restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
