Some basic questions are what is the exact model number (not the product number), as it would be of benefit to lookup the internal specs.

1) Do you have an existing HD that worked in this unit?

2) A 4TB drive is an issue. Some good reading on the issue.

@wb2001

I believe your customer has answered your question in a new thread :

AS PER YOUR INQUIRY, NO THE OLD HD IS NONOPERATIONAL & PARTITIONING DRIVE IS FINE OK

I am not 100% sure what is going on so I did not merge that thread with this one...

He does seem intent on posting the serial number but has not posted the product number of the computer.

@LewisR562890

Moderators will continue to remove the serial number for any thread.

The following may help you find the product number (exact model) of the computer:

Finding your Product Name, Product Number, or Serial Number

Please do NOT post the serial number.

@LewisR562890,

Then you need to read item # 2. Also please state your exact model number, example hp19-2113w.

If you will not answer the question,  I will refrain from responding. I  can not assist someone that refused to answer the most basic question.

If you want to simplify your install, use a 2TB HD, and do not pre-format it. Let WIN 10 find and set the drive up.

@Dragon-Fur,

Typical.

Now he is multi-posting:

Hi Lewis,

You'll need your windows installation media to boot from and let it install a fresh copy of Windows.
