Hi @saurabh-tambolk,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion 15 is asking for a recovery key and you don't have one, it is likely referring to BitLocker Drive Encryption. BitLocker is a security feature that encrypts your hard drive to protect your data. When enabled, it requires a recovery key to access the encrypted drive in case of certain events, such as a hardware change or a forgotten password.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check for the recovery key in your Microsoft account: If your Windows 10 installation is linked to a Microsoft account, you may have stored the recovery key there. Follow these steps to check.

a. On a different device, go to the Microsoft account website (https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey). b. Sign in with the same Microsoft account you used on the HP Pavilion 15. c. Look for the BitLocker recovery key associated with your device.

Check for a recovery key on a USB drive: If you previously saved the recovery key to a USB drive, follow these steps:

a. Insert the USB drive into your HP Pavilion 15.

b. Restart the computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings. This is typically done by pressing a specific key (such as F2 or Delete) during the boot process. The key to press may vary depending on your computer model.

c. In the BIOS/UEFI settings, navigate to the "Security" or "Advanced" section and look for an option related to BitLocker.

d. Within the BitLocker settings, you should find an option to provide the recovery key from a USB drive. Select this option and follow the prompts to unlock the drive.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
