HP All-in-One PC 24-df1000i (1W761AV)
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I bought my HP several months ago with Windows 10/11 installed.

I want my pc to be dual boot with 8.1 and windows 11.

The install of 8.1 can be done from my install cd as opposed to downloading it from Microsoft.

I like my pc but am not satisfied with Windows 11.

Can this be done?  If not, what are the other options?

Thank u.

Hi:

If your PC has an Intel 11th gen core processor, the only Windows OS you can run would be W10 or W11.

No Intel storage controller drivers were developed for older operating systems to find the drive.

It would probably be easier to install W8.1 from a USB flash drive than a DVD, but once you get to the part that asks, 'Where do you want to install Windows,' you will hit a dead end.

Yes, it's 11th Gen Core.

No other possibilities?

Unfortunately, there are no other options for Windows.

Let's say for arguments sake you were able to install W8.1.

There would be no drivers for the major hardware components...chipset, graphics, audio and Wi-Fi.

Maybe there would be a W8.1 ethernet driver, but that would be about it.

OK  -  I see what u are saying now.

Thanks for ur help.
