HP Pavilion Power 580-023w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I did a clean reset, where it would clean my drive and remove all my files, and it starts saying something about a restarting unexpectedly error, so I did this because I read some guide that said this would be the possible culprit

When you see “The computer restarted unexpectedly” error message press Shift + F10 on your keyboard. This should open Command Prompt.

Enter regedit and press Enter to start Registry Editor.

Once Registry Editor starts, navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\Status\ChildCompletion and double click the setup.exe in the right pane.

Change the Value Data from 1 to 3 and click OK to save changes.

Now that I did that my computer keeps doing a loop where it says "Preparing" then "Installing Windows" and it stays at "64%" and restarts immediately. I see a black loading screen, then an HP logo with a loading circle...then flashes blue with the 64% and shuts off again to restart.

Also, my BIOS won't open up. HELP!

Hi
PLEASE POST ANY RESULTS.
First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat; Re-Connect the AC adapter.

NOW begin checking/testing/proving the Hardware is fit for purpose.
Power on your PC, press ESC (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).

Thank you for your response and help, very much appreciated!

I was able to run a system fast test and everything Passed.

It does say my current version of diagnostics is not up to date and to go to a site to update. But, what should I do from here?

Hi

So if all the hardware passes test....

HWT B D W.png then perhaps a SoftWare solution.

Hopefully one of these documents will cover (and solve) your problem...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From 2016 onwards there is a possible recovery option via the cloud...
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 7 & 10)
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162205
OR
This First part only works when a valid Recovery Partition is enabled.
If it displays an error message then move onto the Second part,
OR if you have data you wish to try and save using the XCOPY command.
Then create your own Repair/Recovery/Rebuild/Re-install media or buy a set from HP.
Turn off the computer.
Disconnect all connected devices and cables, Media Drives, USB drives, printers, & faxes.
Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
Do not disconnect the monitor, keyboard, mouse, or power cord.
WARNING - ONE WAY ONLY, WIPES ALL DATA - NON-RECOVERABLE
Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key, about once every second,
until the Choose an option screen is displayed, and then continue.
On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot, and work your way through the screens.
Second Part:-
This may require another PC. Find and Download your .iso from…
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Expand/Extract/Burn the iso Image onto a DVD/USB as needed.
Microsoft’s Creator Tool will make the required DVD or USB.
Then you can try System Recovery Options / Advanced Options shown in the screenshots.
NB: - W10 Begin with the Automatic Repair, then Startup Settings etc.
Again, thank you very much for your help here!
My goal was to restart/wipe all data from this computer and make it completely fresh again with only windows 10 as the OS - is there a best option for that and should I change back the setting from 3 to 1 that I had followed originally? Or what is the best option while in the BIOS to change this ....sorry I'm not great with Comps tbh
Sorry I'm not more
Hi
The Hard Disk wants to be SECURE/GPT booting.
make a W10 USb and use that.
Factory Fresh F11 installs   tend to stress the disk and cause premature failure.  So
To get started, you will first need to have a license to install Windows 10. You can then download and run the media creation tool. For more information on how to use the tool, see the instructions below.
