Hi @adventum

If the BIOS tests your USB key but refuses to start the Ubuntu 24.04 installer, it usually means the system is blocking the boot because of Secure Boot, USB format, or an unstable ISO. Here are the steps that normally fix this:

1. Disable Secure Boot
Enter BIOS (F10 / Esc / Del depending on the model) →
Go to Security / BootSecure Boot = Disabled → Save and restart.

2. Recreate the USB using a reliable method
Use Rufus or balenaEtcher and recreate the Ubuntu USB as:

  • Partition Scheme: GPT

  • Target System: UEFI

  • File System: FAT32

3. Set USB as the first boot device
In BIOS → Boot Order → move the USB to the top.

4. Try a different USB port
Use a USB 2.0 port if available (some older BIOS versions won’t boot from USB 3.0).

5. Capture the fast error message
Record a short video with your phone during boot. You can pause the video to read the error message that flashes too quickly.

6. Test the USB on another PC
If it boots on another computer, the issue is with BIOS settings rather than the USB.

Most USB-boot failures are caused by Secure Boot being enabled or the USB not being created in UEFI format.
