The person at MIcrosoft Help Desk told me I could not run Windows 10 on my desktop because HP did not support running
Windows 10 on my PC. She told me I could not get the right drivers for Windows 10. She told me if I updated to Windows 10 my PC would crash and I'd lose all my data. Is this true? I have Windows 7 Premium installed on a HP 8000 Elite SFF PC 64 bit. If anyone can help me with this it will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Jim Forrest

The MS person is PARTIALLY correct, but they are seriously exaggerating the situation.
What is true is that HP does not provide Win10 drivers for your PC. Other HP PCs might have Win10 drivers that would work on your PC, but I don't have that information and others would have to respond here to tell you that in detail.
Upgrading to Win10 will not CRASH your PC -- as MS will provide its own drivers for your hardware -- but one or more hardware components might not work properly because the MS-provided drivers only provide the most basic functionality.
Additionally, while nearly all of the Upgraded Win7 PCs worked well with Win when it first came out and MS was pushing the upgrade really hard, the same can NOT be said of more recent versions of Win10.
And finally, with HP PCs, upgrading to Win10 is known to corrupt the Recovery information HP preloaded onto your PC, so if the Upgrade goes badly, you will most likely NOT be able to roll your PC back to its current state and still have it work properly.
So basically, it's a risky process and the older the Win7 PC, generally, the greater the risk and that is increased with newer versions of Win10.
There are, however, things you can to do (1) increase the chances of success and (2) provide a Restore capability to return your PC to its current state should the Upgrade go badly. But, both of these require considerable work and time on your part -- probably several hours -- and you need to let us know if you want to pursue those.
