Is the intel core i9 recommended for the HP Slimline desktop-260-A114?

Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs for your PC.

HP Desktop - 260-a114 PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

Since it has an AMD processor and chipset, no Intel processor will work in it.

The AMD A8-7410 processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

Processor upgrade information

  • Supports the AMD A8-7410 (Carrizo-L) Quad Core processor only. The processor is not upgradeable.

So, the motherboard cannot be upgraded?

hi

@Booker2318

the possibilities of this motherboard are practically nil
as you can see

Iris-A8 motherboard specifications.

Supports the AMD A8-7410 (Carrizo-L) Quad Core processor only. The processor is not upgradeable.

no slot to install a graphics card

note:
Integrated graphics does not work if a graphics card is installed

you can just upgrade memory

  • Amount: 4 GB
  • Speed: PC3L-12800 MB/s
  • Type: DDR3L-1600

  • Single channel (2 DIMMs per channel) memory architecture
  • Two DDR3L UDIMM (240-pin) sockets
  • Supports up to PC3L-12800 (DDR3L-1600)
  • Supports 2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB UDIMMs
  • Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
    note:
32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.
  • Supports up to 16 GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computers

eventually replace the HDD with a Sata SSD

Welcome to Crucial USA
I will recommend the crucial site and the mx500 SSD or the WD blue ssd sata solid state drive Generally more expensive and a little more efficient

Crucial Sequential reads/writes up to 560/510MB/s

WD  Read Speeds up to 560MB/s and Sequential Write Speeds up to 530MB/s.

and a minimum of 8 gb of memory
to see, but do not spend too much on a computer of this type

When you look at the 6 motherboards offered in the entire model series, it appears that the PC you have comes with the best processor that was offered in the model series.

Select the product specifications drop down list.

None of the processors can be upgraded.

There is one motherboard with an Intel processor, and it is a weak Celeron J3060.

If you want to move up to an Intel i9 series processor, you will need to buy a new PC.
