Recently had Internal Battery Error(601) at startup. Ran the HP Diagnostic Tool and the result was Failure with the following ID:
6BXU6K-00098R-XD7V7F-C0A613
I couldn't figure out what to do with this error. So if anyone could help me out with the issue I shall be obliged.
Also I have to keep the Laptop connected to the power cable and if I remove the power cable it turns off instantaneously.

I am sorry it is confusing.
The battery has failed and must be replaced.
Part number and simple remove / replace procedure are found here:
HP 250 G3 Notebook PC HP 256 G3 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide
See Page 35
Description Spare part number
4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 740715-001
3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 746641-001
Code?
The long code is used by internal HP to grab that information and a few other details to which we (on the outside) have no access. The result: dead battery
If your computer is under warranty, the battery is also covered.
The battery might be on a Recall List:
- HP Replacement programs and product recalls
- Calls: HP Notebook Computer and Mobile Workstation Battery Safety Recall and Replacement Program
or...

Thanks for the reply and the maintanance guide. And why were yo confused!
I checked...the battery is not on the recall list. I will try to contact he support as to what the code signify.
One question though...the error said its internal battery so does G3 250 have two battery or just one i.e. the external one. And you wrote the description of two batteries so does that mean we have to check which one of the two batteries is being used in the laptop.
Well I can change the battery myself if its the external one as was in the guide but since one of my hinges is broken I have to give it to the service center!
Thanks again.

You are welcome.
The weird code includes things like the serial number and other hardware specifics, none of which really matter to anyone except HP Technicians. Personal opinion, of course. Information of import: Dead / Failed battery.
There are two batteries in the computer - one of the batteries is the little RTC battery - the RTC battery is not the failed component. More information in the Service Guide; search for word "battery".
The two batteries in the description: one is a three cell battery, the other is a four cell battery (better).
Read about the battery options in Specifications > Power Specifications
You can find the exact battery that you have - the information is likely on the outside of the battery unit.

Open PartSurfer

- Enter your device Product Number , Serial Number, or Part Number in the Quick Search box
HINT: To see a system-specific list, replace the Product Number (in search) with your device Serial Number

Use your search engine to find the part number at your favorite online store.
If you are already going to send in the computer for repair, you can have the battery replaced at that time. The "extra" cost, if there is one at all, will only be for the part. There is no actual "replacement" procedure beyond clicking the battery pack into place on the back of the computer. (Easy model, some computers have the battery buried inside the case.)

Thanks Dragon Fur for the detailed answer.
Got all your points clearly. I was just confused as it was saying internal battery error but now its clear. I can change the outer battery easily. I was thinking to do something for the hinge problem(happened 4,5 months back) myself therefore waiting like...should I do! or should I not do!...Lets see if I give it to the service center or do it myself(may be then it would be the last time I would see my laptop working 🙂 )
Thanks again.
Take care
