Hi @Maddiehegel,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY x360 - 15m isn’t charging despite being plugged in, here are a few things you can try.

Check the Charger and Port:

  • Make sure the charger is securely plugged into both the laptop and the power outlet.
  • Inspect the charger and cable for any visible damage.
  • Try a different power outlet or use another compatible charger if available.

Examine the Battery Connection:

  • If you’re comfortable opening the laptop, ensure the battery is properly connected. Sometimes, reseating the battery can help.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the charger and remove the battery (if it’s removable).
  • Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and charger, then try powering on the laptop.

Update or Reinstall Battery Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager, find the "Battery" section, and right-click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery."
  • Choose "Update driver" and follow the prompts. If updating doesn’t help, you can also try uninstalling the driver and restarting your laptop to reinstall it automatically.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing a specific key (usually F2, F10, or ESC) during startup.
  • Look for battery or power-related settings and make sure they are configured correctly.

Check for Battery Health:

  • Some HP laptops come with a built-in battery diagnostic tool accessible via the BIOS or HP Support Assistant. Run the diagnostic to check the health of your battery.

Power Adapter Testing:

  • If possible, test your laptop with another compatible power adapter to see if it charges. This can help determine if the issue is with the adapter itself.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with the battery, charging port, or internal components.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
