While attempting to turn on my computer I got a message saying “Your computer has encountered a problem and needs to be restarted”. After restarting another screen popped up saying “preparing automatic repair” followed by “chose your keyboard layout”. I am stuck at this message and cannot do anything. Neither the mouse nor the keyboard respond to any commands. How do I get passed this screen and back into my computer?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I recommend you restart the computer and check whether you are able to boot to Windows.
If you continue facing the issue, then follow the below steps.
- Click Repair your computer at the bottom.
- Choose Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Command Prompt.
- Type chkdsk /f /r C: and then press Enter.
- Type exit and press Enter.
- Restart your PC to see if the problem is fixed or not.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
