Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
I see that you're experiencing jumpy mouse issue,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
- Did you check if an alternate or external mouse?
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- When was the last time it worked fine?
- Have you made any hardware/software changes?
- What is the operating system?
Keep me posted for further assistance.

What can I do to fix the mouse? It’s driving me nuts. I’m trying to watch a show and it keeps skipping to the part near the end of the episode. I don’t know the type of hp laptop I have. I just want to know how to fix it.

Thank you for posting back.
The cursor jumps or moves unexpectedly on the display when typing on the notebook. This extra movement is caused by the sensitivity of the touchpad. The sensitivity of the original touchpad driver cannot be adjusted or manually disabled.
Let's update the bios and check.:
I’d like additional information in order to troubleshoot
Please let me know:
What is the product and serial number?
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Okay here are the other two things that are happening to my laptop. First of all when ever I make a tiny bit of movement while I’m watching something on my laptop either a movie or a show it will jump to a part of the tv show or movie that’s near the end. For one instance I was watch a show and it jumped to the part near the end that reveals what is the big thing that happened in the show. Secondly, when I try to click on the start button icon it doesn’t open.
