My computer was recently hacked. Was making sure HP Connection Optimizer couldn't be used as a way to hack into my HP? Was thinking about deleting it.

Hi @lisay2019,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

HP Connection Optimizer is a legitimate HP utility designed to manage network connections and is not typically a vector for hacking. The frequent 2FA requests indicate a serious security compromise, likely phishing or malware, requiring immediate action to secure your accounts, scan for malware, and change all passwords.

Use Windows Defender or a reputable, updated security tool to perform a full system scan for malware.

Open the "Run" app, type "netplwiz," and click OK to view users and remove any unfamiliar accounts.

Since hackers are targeting your 2FA, immediately change passwords for critical accounts (email, bank) from a different device.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
