Hi, I bought a 2nd hand HP 24G080NA to replace the one my daughter broke (she smashed the top left screen) but it came with no operating system.I can’t download windows 10 on a memory stick at present. So I thought that perhaps I could use an old recovery disc, when I get to the language pop up my mouse doesn’t work for me to click next to continue.Ive changed batteries.
i am not the most techincal person but I need to resolve this so my daughter can do her school work and I can do my work too,if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it as I’m starting to get really fed up with it all. Thanks

Hello
You can download the system with this tool,
Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7)
I tried the pc seems to be supported, if it is this model
24-g080na (ENERGY STAR) PC Product Specifications
the number to give is this: W3B92EA # ABU
"to replace the one my daughter broke (she smashed the top left screen) "
what model is it, it doesn't work at all anymore?

Hello Promethee
thsmks for your response
i have tried to do what you have suggested, but I’m using my neighbours laptop..I have also tried to obtain the media creation tool there’s not enough disk space for me to download onto USB.
i tried to get the cloud recovery tool but I have to sign into his microsoft account,I am pretty sure he doesn’t trust me enough to give me his password.I don’t know what to do?
the previous desktop had worked for a few hours when I linked it up to my smart TV but it no longer works as I can’t navigate the mouse around the screen.
im starting to regret getting a replacement and should of just bought a cheap new laptop..
can you suggest anything else please? Thank you

If you can use the computer, you should be able to download the iso directly:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
otherwise for the HP tool you will need a usb key large enough

im ready to give up for now as I have spent many hours on this and not getting anywhere,
thank you for your help promethee

if it is about the usb tool Hp I can just tell you what is written:
Make sure you have a blank USB drive with a minimum of 32 GB.
I never tested, maybe a smaller capacity key may be enough, it depends on the models
For iso microsoft:
Follow these steps to create installation media (USB flash drive or DVD) you can use to install a new copy of Windows 10, perform a clean installation, or reinstall Windows 10.
Before you download the tool make sure you have:
- An internet connection (internet service provider fees may apply).
- Sufficient data storage available on a computer, USB or external drive for the download.
- A blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space or blank DVD (and DVD burner) if you want to create media. We recommend using a blank USB or blank DVD, because any content on it will be deleted.
- When burning a DVD from an ISO file, if you are told the disc image file is too large you will need to use Dual Layer (DL) DVD Media.
