Paul,
It is the pain in the rear again with yet another question. I was able to save my computer thanks to your help. YES it has taken me all this time to get windows to do all the updates and get it back to 8.1. Seemed to take forever.. I have one update that will not take no matter what I have tried. Wondering if the miracle worker has the solution to it..
I have searched for the answer and have tried several to no avail. Maybe you have the solution I need as it is the last update I need to install..
The Windows update is :
Hewlett-Packard - USB - 2/10/2017 12:00:00 AM - 40.11.1108.1741 Download size: 31.3 MB
I get error code 80070490
I did run the HP service updates to make sure all drivers, updates on HP are done.
I did the BIOS in unsecrure mode as it was blocking another update (found that solution by searching) yet can't seem to find this solution. I don't know it is a HP issue or Windows issues (Assume is windows since its in a windows update) but my mothers computer doesn't have it and even in installed but shes not running a HP computer so not sure. Like I said I am pretty computer stupid. You have been so great and helpful I just figured Id ask if you had any answers for this one.

Hi:
If everything is working, no sense in beating yourself over the head with that update not installing.
I would suggest that you right click on the update, and select Hide update.
That will prevent the update from showing up anymore.
