HP Pavillion Elite HPE-500y
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello.

How can I acquire a recovery disk for my HPE-500y desktop PC?

I need to repair windows to get it to boot up.  Since it's a Windows 7 OA, I need a HP recovery disk for my PC that has WIndows 7 on it.

I've Google searched like crazy trying to figure out of there's a way around not having to get a recovery disk.  I'm far from an expert when it comes to computers, but I haven't found any way around needing a HP recovery disk with Windows 7 on it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi:

If your PC came with W7 Home Premium, you can make your own W7 installation media from the link below.

I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility below that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive, so that it is bootable.

Then after windows 7 installs, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

Otherwise, since HP no longer sells recovery media for your PC's model series, you can order a recovery kit from this vendor at the link below...
