When I upgraded the Windows 10 to the most current build, I lost all functionality of the integrated webcam. I need the webcam driver and factory installed software, so I can get the webcam to work again. Where can I get the webcam driver and software?

The HP web-page for your product is:

     HP All-in-One - 20-c225t PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

When I access that page, a pop-up suggests that I run the "HP Support Assistant". That seems to be a good suggestion -- worth trying?

I appreciate your willingness to help me, but the integrated webcam doesn't show up in the device manager. It seems like the HP All-in-one desktop no longer sees the hardware plugged in. I powered down the HP All-in-one desktop, opened the back of it, went inside, and unplugged and replugged the cord to the webcam with no luck. It seems like the most recent Windows 10 update refuses the webcam connection. The only time the webcam worked is when I had Windows 10 1607 build was installed. When it upgraded to 1709, the HP All-in-one desktop no longer sees the integrated webcam. I don't get it. I am tempted to reopen the HP All-in-one desktop, power it on, and unplug and replug in the webcam cord to see if it gets recognized in the device manager. Do you think that will work? I am running out of options, and beginning to regret purchasing this HP All-in-one desktop. I look forward to your response. Thank you.

I appreciate your response. I have already tried the HP Support Assistant, but that hardware troubleshooting doesn't recognize the integrated webcam. Neither does the device manager. I have been to the  HP All-in-One - 20-c225t PC  support website with all of the drivers, and HP chooses not to list a driver for the integrated webcam. Very frustrating. All I need is the webcam driver and software that was installed in the  HP All-in-One - 20-c225t PC when I purchased it. Do you know where I can find the driver and software? Trust me. It's not on the HP All-in-One - 20-c225t PC  support website. Very very disappointing.

Does Device Manager now show any "unknown" devices, or devices marked with a yellow-coloured exclamation-mark over a triangle-shaped background ?  This could be a "place-holder" for your WebCam.

Double-click on that icon, and then click "update driver", to see if that helps.

No, there are no "unknown devices" or yellow exclamation marks in the device manager. The device manager is not showing any issues. I opened up the all-in-one desktop again, powered it on, disconnected, and re-plugged in the cord to the integrated webcam. I did it several times, and finally the device manager showed the webcam, BUT I received the error message, "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer"

So I disconnected and reconnected the cord to the integrated webcam several times, and the same error message popped up in the device manager. So I turned off the all-in-one desktop, and re-imaged it. Again, a webcam never shows in the device manager. If I remember clearly, I remember the device manager showing the webcam under camera and imaging devices. I think I just need the factory stock webcam driver. I think it's Realtek. Please help.

So I disconnected and reconnected the cord to the integrated webcam several times,

Did you do this at BOTH ends of the cord?  Maybe, the cord is now broken -- not transmitting anything -- and needs to be replaced ?

Hi,

You don't need a driver for any HP AiO running Windows 10 (as far as I know). Win10 will install a driver by itself if everything is working OK. I would suggest installing the latest HP UEFI diags:

https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/pc-diags.html

Then re-boot the PC & keep tapping F2 as soon as the screen goes black. Once booted in diags, arrow to component tests. If webcam is not in the list, then that means the system is not detecting the webcam at hardware level. IE - webcam broken.

If it DOES have 'webcam' in the list and you run the test, it'll either pass or fail. I doubt it'll see it though, by the troubleshooting steps you've already done. I have seen once before your exact issue, and it was the webcam at fault.

If the webcam is faulty, and the unit is under warranty, log a warranty call. If it's not under warranty, then you're cheapest option is to buy an external USB webcam.

Hope this helps.

I did what you said and downloaded the PC diagnostics application from https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/pc-diags.html, but when I rebooted and hit F2, I didn't see the component tests. I only say Memory Test and Hard Drive Test. Did I download the correct PC diagnostics application?

Also, when I rebooted from the Windows 10 updates, I am now seeing the webcam in the device manager but I am seeing, "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."
